Barcaccina is a typical Italian restaurant situated on the shore which vanishes between the trees and the sea, immersed by the colours of the Tuscan coast
and the freshness of the pinewood.
In the main room you can feel the atmosphere of the 60es with light colours, sea style paintings, old fishing nets, simple but cosy with its brightness and
spectacular view of the islands which one can see from the windows.
But only when the evening comes and the sun kisses the sea, the sky changes its colours from blue to violet ,then becomes red and dark blue and finally fade
over the horizon of Elba and Capraia isles, in this moment you can truly feel the beauty of "our sea" ....
Going outside we find two open wooden terraces with their "foot" on the sand which divide our world in 2 parts, green and fresh pinewood behind us and blue
sky and sea in front of us and it here where we offer to cuddle you with our traditional and at the first sight simple dishes.
The philosophy of our kitchen in years, especially the last ones was to follow the tendency of the culinary world in which all are in constant competition
to change the tastes and presentation of the dishes, well we remained faithful to some values which one can call tradition, memories or simplicity but this
is the product which we want to give to our clients and we don’t care if sometimes we are criticized or acclaimed, how we say in Tuscany "the thing that counts
is to do it my way!".
Sometimes because of concept some times because of necessity we always left our clients to focus on two important things that we want to transmit the taste
of what we you eat and the beauty of the nature around us and during the winter months when the restaurant is closed we dedicate a lot of time and recourses to
improve, to try new recipes and create new dishes which in the years have brought satisfaction and fame such as ray salad and tagliolini with cuttlefish ink
and clams. But don’t forget the important choice that we made to use the wood stove and grill instead an electric one so they give a specific and unforgettable
taste to our dishes.
I can speak for hours about what I do but it’s not fair because my best critics are you, clients which for 40 years give us emotions and satisfaction.
